MERDEKA is synonym with fighting and getting rid of what we don't want. From Portuguese to communist and then the British, we have been successfully in getting rid of them. But what actually is MERDEKA then? Can today and the hour invokes the same sense of patriotism in everybody? Well, MERDEKA is very much synonym with symbolism of a kind which might be different between what we all cherished. But the greates symbol of MERDEKA and unites us all is none other than the JALUR GEMILANG. MERDEKA!
