Changes and the Third eye..

I teach business courses. One of the courses I teach is marketing. Naturally what goes on around me catches my marketing eye. Not one eye but three eyes. One eye is looking at the basic of things. Another is the price one is able and afford to pay, and the third is placing the service and product in terms one's own dream of happiness.
It has been a while I have not taken the north-south bound PLUS expressway till yesterday. I took the route from Johore Baru to Kuala Lumpur. What amazed me is the change that takes place all the way from JB to KL. The services rendered are meant for the three categories of customers.
Changes always has the story of old products are obsolete and being replaced by new ones. Marketing, at its best delivers the very modern and high-tech of products that create conveniences to customers, and in this case it is the highway users.
New product development has always been the major thrust of marketing in theory but not in practice. The problem is not in the management but the elements in the environment it self which include the demographics of customers. It is how the environment perceive and accept change that makes the difference. It all boils down to the word `ready.'
Do they really in need of the products and services? Do they have the money to spend? And thirdly, there must be elements of dreams in the products and services and spells new lifestyle for the customers.
As for the highway users, what I noted, the customers mainly comprised of those from the two categories. Most of us are still in the category of the normal two eyed customers. At least for now.

So Malaysians, keep on dreaming!
